Reverend Kanice D. Johns, M.DIV.

Grace and Peace to you through our Lord Jesus Christ!

I greet you with Jesus Joy. I would first like to express how happy I am to be your pastor. I believe that God does all things perfect, and HE is a God who makes no mistakes. While we are in transition I am asking that we embark on this journey by incorporating these things in our daily walk.

Daily prayer for our church
Prayer for our Families
Prayer for our Pastor
And that the vision for the church be fulfilled

My family and I have come as a unit. We love hard and work hard to build up the kingdom of God. I am looking forward to what God has in store for this Zion at this time.

It was wonderful to see many faces on Sunday and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the family in the upcoming weeks.

If you need me, please call text or email me. I am also on Face book. Feel free to add me: Kanice Attles-Johns. My contact number is listed below. I am slowly transitioning and ask for your prayers and patience as we transition together.

Prayerfully, I will see you on Sunday for Worship at 10:00 a.m.

In His Service,

Pastor Kanice Johns

Pastor Kanice D. Johns

The Reverend Kanice D. Johns has been in ministry for 27 years.  pastor Johns has held the position of Pastor for 24 of those years.  She is currently the first female Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Under the leadership of Reverend Johns, Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Norristown, (her former appointment), Mt. Zion has paid off two mortgages, birthed over (10) new ministries, served over 5,000 persons with coats, 2,000 students with school supplies, which includes the Upward Basketball league and the tomorrow's leader's Reading program in partnership with Eastern University.

Pastor Johns believes in the whole Bible, including the manisfestations of the Holy spirit as described in Acts chapter 2.  She is noted for "changing the atmosphere" in all three of her previous pastoral appointments to one of pure worship.  Rev. Johns has facilitated numerous workshops on the works of the Holy spirit throughout the 1st District of the A.M.E. Church.  Rev. Johns is the mother-in-ministry to 16 persons, most of which serve the A.M.E. Church.

Rev. Johns  is the wife of Brother Timothy Johns and mother of five children:  Mark, Genice, Kara, Joy and Faith - plus her son-in-law, John.  she is the very proud grandmother of four.  One granddaughter Juliana and three adorable grandsons, Christian and Caleb Joshua, and Jeremiah Timothy.  She is also the daughter of Rev. Dr. LeRoy Attles and the late Dr. Henrietta Attles who is Pastor Emeritus of St. Paul A.M.E. in Cambridge, MA.

Rev. Johns received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Morgan State University, her Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston University and her Masters of Divinity Degree from Harvard University and is currently enrolled at Eastern University; pursuing a PHD in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Pastor Johns loves god and her family.  she is honored every day to serve as a pastor in God's vineyard.  As an example for Christ, she shares those blessings with others.  Rev. Johns believes in preaching God's Word, teaching God's Word and reaching out to God's people in an effort to give God the glory.  For she knows as Romans 8:28 records,
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."
